With more than 40,000 visitors each year, Plumpton Racecourse endeavours to act in a sustainable manner and be a responsible neighbour, employer and venue.

Where possible we look to promote travel by public transport, and support many local businesses and charities.
Our objective is to encourage an active outdoor lifestyle, and look for partnerships within the local community who share our goals.
A recent example is Plumpton’s ongoing relationship with the local Tunbridge Wells Sainsbury’s store. Through them, we organised a free fruit giveaway at our Family Fun Day.
Graham Peasley, Manager of Tunbridge Wells Sainsbury’s said “Tunbridge Wells Sainsbury’s are looking to increase the visibility of the brand and the store in the local community, and to promote healthy eating at suitable outdoor events in the area. A free fruit giveaway fits well with Sainsbury’s nationwide Active Kids campaign which is all about giving young people the chance to take part in great, fun activities, learn life skills and get excited about having a healthy lifestyle. It also helps Sainsbury build local supplier relationships as the fruit is provided by a Kent based producer.”
We also work closely with local charities to help them fundraise and raise awareness in the local community.
The Moorcroft Racehorse Welfare Centre celebrates it’s 10th Anniversary at Plumpton this year, having raised more than £400,000 from it’s annual Plumpton raceday lunch since 2000.
The Children’s Trust is also one of our charity partners, who organise a Mascot Champion Hurdle race as part of our Family Day’s entertainments.
Plumpton Racecourse is also involved in the Plumpton Village Plan which includes support of community initiatives developed in direct response to the needs identified by the village.
