Suzy Smith Yard Visit

 In Plumpton Blog

Plumpton Annual Members brave the elements on the Downs for annual yard visit.

Despite the weather, 62 of our annual members turned out in their wet weather gear to attend the annual yard visit. This year, we were lucky to be hosted by Suzy Smith at her training yard, County Stables, just down the road in Lewes.

Fuelled with tea, coffee and chocolate brownies, the members braved onto the Downs, where regular Plumpton jockey, Jack Sherwood, schooled some of the horses over hurdles and fences. The annual members were treated to an inside account on the horses Suzy has in training, and who to look out for as future Plumpton super stars. Back at the yard, the members met some of the earlier lots, who had returned to the warm and dry of their stables.

“Hi Linda,
Just a thank you for organising the visit to the stables yesterday.
Very enjoyable and informative.
Excellent.
Keith & Pauline Clayton”

Arranging an annual yard visit is just one of the many things our Linda does as Annual Members Liaison. She is also currently working on the extensive reciprocal list for 2018. Annual members get free admission to reciprocal venues across the country on agreed days. This extends beyond racecourses to show grounds, cricket and much more. Visit our Annual Members page for more information on the benefits of purchasing that special metal badge.
