Advance discounted ticket sales close 48 hours before the raceday, after which tickets can still be purchased online at the 'on the day' ticket price Alternatively you can buy tickets at the turnstiles on the day. However, there are savings to be made by booking in advance.

Buying in advance is cheaper as you get a special advance discount and it saves you time queueing on the day.

A: Our website closes for ticket sales at midnight the day before raceday (e.g. Saturday 23:59 when racing on a Sunday).

A: If you have purchased a Grandstand & Paddock ticket, this will allow access to all areas of the racecourse. Holders of a Grandstand & Paddock ticket can move freely over to the Picnic Enclosure (Centre Course) at the track crossing points. The Picnic Enclosure ticket will not enable you to cross over to the Grandstand side of the track but still offers great views of the racing, together with betting and catering facilities, bar, picnic tables and toilets. If you wish, you can pay to upgrade on the day to the Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure at the track crossing point. Picnic Enclosure tickets are only available on weekend and Easter racedays.

A: Plumpton stages races under the National Hunt code, which requires the horses to negotiate jumps. There are two types of jumps race; steeplechases, with four foot six inch high fences, and hurdles races, with smaller, three foot six inch high obstacles. Races at Plumpton are run from distances as short as about 2 miles, up to 3.5 miles. A day's racing at Plumpton will involve a mix of hurdle and steeplechases over varying distances. At some race meetings, the last race may be a National Hunt flat race, known as a 'bumper', which is a race involving no obstacles, intended to provide future jumpers with racecourse experience.

A: Plumpton generally stages 6 or 7 race cards, although, occasionally, if there is a wealth of entries for a particular race, the race is split into two divisions, increasing the number of scheduled races. In these circumstances, the race times are subject to alteration.

A: We have plenty of free parking in the centre of the course, access to this area is via the railway crossing entrance. Please note that you can only leave the racecourse in between races when no horses are in the parade ring or on the track. If you prefer to park on hard standing, please use the entrance to the south (not the railway crossing gate) and follow signs for car park.

A: Yes. This is located in the Paddock Bar, Sussex Grandstand.

A: Dogs are welcome into the centre of the course but must be on a lead and under control at all times. Please do not leave dogs unattended in your car. With the exception of assistant dogs, no dogs are permitted on the Grandstand side of the course.

A: There is no formal dress code at Plumpton Racecourse. As we race primarily through the winter months, we are used to racing in all conditions and recommend you check the weather forecast to ensure you are appropriately dressed. However, if you are dining in the Paddock or Marquee restaurant, the dress code is Smart/Casual and smart jeans are permitted.

A: If you intend to bring your own food and drink, including alcohol, into the Racecourse, it must be brought into the Picnic (Centre Course) Enclosure and consumed in this area. Only food and drink purchased at the course can be consumed on the Grandstand side of the track.

A: There is seating throughout the site including picnic benches and park benches together with three bars on the Grandstand side of the course. The Centre Course bar is also open at weekend and Easter meetings. There is limited seating on the top floor of the Sussex Grandstand with spectacular views of the course.

A: Racegoers are permitted to take photographs for their own personal use in public areas of the racecourse but are not permitted to use them for commercial purposes without permission from the racecourse and provision of press accreditation.

A: Plumpton makes every effort to cater for racegoers with accessible needs. Clearly designated parking areas are provided in both the centre course and rear car park. We also have accessible toilets, dedicated raised viewing areas and step-free access to bars. A ‘Stannah type’ stair lift is fitted to the rear steps of the Sussex Grandstand to gain access to the 1st floor of the grandstand and Paddock Restaurant. Another stair lift is available on the South Down Grandstand. Free Carer’s Admission – Whilst the normal admission price applies to all racegoers, those requiring assistance from a qualified carer are able to request a FREE admission pass for their carer. Official identification must be shown at the entrance. Transport – There are a number of local taxi providers who offer wheelchair accessible transportation. Southern Railways operate the train line between London Victoria and Hastings/Eastbourne which stops at Plumpton. A: There are no concessions for senior citizens. However, all racegoers can take advantage of the discounted advance ticket price by booking online or over the phone.

A: Tickets are priced per person. Car parking is free, regardless of the vehicle occupancy as everyone will have purchased their own ticket. (This excludes accompanied under 18’s, who get free admission.)

A: Yes, children aged 17 and under are free if accompanied by an adult

A: If a meeting is abandoned before completion of the first race, all admission tickets will be refunded in full. If a meeting is abandoned before completion of the third race, all admission tickets will be entitled to a 50% refund.
